Addy (short for Adeline) was rescued from a feedlot in Stillwater, OK on April 30, 2015. She was destined for the slaughterhouse within 24 hours if no one wanted her. Stacy, a Gabby’s Sanctuary ARK (GSA) volunteer, found out about Addy, so she and Terry Wade-Ottley, founder of GSA, changed her destiny by going to get Addy and bring her home where she will be cared for and loved.
We don’t know Addy’s history prior to the feedlot. She appears to be a thoroughbred, and possibly a former racehorse. Her disposition is sweet and trusting. She stands about 18 hands tall, but is very malnourished. Over the next weeks and months, Addy will have a lot of medical bills as we bring her back to health: dental care, hoof care, antibiotics, vaccinations, and good food and nutrients. In the photos, the shiny patches on Addy’s side are medicine applied to injuries. Please help us help Addy. Donations of any size are appreciated.
